What are you doing for others?

Happy Monday!

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” These words by Martin Luther King, Jr. perfectly describe his legacy that encompassed helping those who needed him most. On a day spent to honor him, it only seemed fitting to reflect and think – How do you give back?

Every day is an opportunity to do something good. It doesn’t have to be big, you can start small. It can be as simple as holding the door for someone, be a mentor to someone, or give someone a compliment. Even these small acts of kindness can have a major impact in another person’s life.

It is important to remember to volunteer and give back in our communities. Not only will you be helping others but you help yourself. Helping others makes you feel more grateful for what you do have, instead of focusing on what you don’t have. Studies show that helping others makes you happier, helps you find a sense of purpose, and is contagious. You will encourge those around you to want to give back too.

For this week’s #MakeItHappen Monday, think of what you can do to give back today. Let us know how you are giving back and email us at or share your story and tag us on social.

Go make it happen,
Luly & the YTeach Team
